To teach the history of the Shoah during the Second World War and introduce children to the Jewish culture

The site introduces children to the Jewish culture though folk tales and stories. It also aims to help teach the very young about the Shoah.

Sarah's attic is designed so that unaccompanied children can visit the site. The editorial and iconographic choices are mindful of the sensitivity of children that age. The Shoah Memorial offers an approach adapted to the young, through folk tales and stories for children.

Yiddish stories for children Sarah's attic opens a window on the Jewish culture, in inviting the visitor to listen to Yiddish stories and explaining the language of everyday life.

The stories of children having experienced the war

In order to raise children's awareness of what happened during the Second World War, Sarah's attic invites them to listen to the real-life stories of Jewish children who were in hiding, interned or took part in the Resistance

A pedagogical space offers primary school teachers tools enabling them to address the history of the Shoah in the classroom, in line with guidelines issued by the French Department of Education. This educational material can also be used by teachers and other pedagogical staff seeking to guide the work of children between the ages of 8 and 12 years on this subject. The approach consists of exploring themes linked to the testimonies of Jewish children during the war in order to avoid focusing on the genocide.
